Who we are and what this covers

Pinnacle Science Labs is a trade name of Pinnacle Scientific Limited Liability Company ("Pinnacle", "we", "us" or "our"). This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit pinnaclesciencelabs.com, use your account, pay on our secure payment page at checkout.pinnaclesciencelabs.com, contact us, or receive our emails and texts. It doesn't cover other companies' websites or apps, including social media platforms.

What we collect

Information you give us:

Account details: your name, email address and password. Your password is stored only as a secure one-way hash.
Contact details: your mobile phone number, if you choose to give it.
Shipping details: your address, and your institution or company if you add it.
Order details: what you bought, when, what you paid, your reward points and your order history.
Your confirmation that you are 21 or older and a qualified researcher, and your agreement to our terms, with the version you agreed to and the time.
Your marketing choices, including when you opted in to email or texts, the consent wording you were shown, and when you opted out.
What you send us through our contact form, help tickets, email or phone.
If you apply for a wholesale account: your organization's name and type, your role, contact details, website, location, expected volume, the materials you are interested in, a description of your research, and the statements you confirmed.

Payment information is collected and processed by our payment processor on our secure payment page. We never see or store your full card number. We receive confirmation of whether the payment went through.

Information collected automatically: like any website, our hosting provider receives your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you request, so it can deliver the Site and protect it from attacks. When you submit a form or place an order, we keep a salted one-way hash of your IP address (never the address itself), which we use only to prevent abuse and fraud. We also use the cookies and browser storage described below. We don't use analytics or advertising tracking tools.

Where it comes from

Most of it comes from you. We also receive payment status from our payment processor, and delivery and tracking updates from our fulfillment partner and the carriers.

How we use it

To create and run your account, including your order history and reward points.
To process, ship and support your orders, including sending order, shipping and account emails.
To confirm you are eligible to buy, and to keep a record of that.
To review wholesale applications and manage wholesale accounts.
To answer your questions and help tickets.
To send marketing emails or texts, only if you opted in.
To prevent fraud, misuse of our products and abuse of the Site, and to respond to payment disputes.
To keep the Site working, secure and up to date.
To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations, and to protect our rights.

Text messages

If you opt in to texts, we use your mobile number to send recurring automated marketing messages. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies and msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help.

We do not sell, rent or share your mobile phone number or your text message opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. Your number is shared only with the service providers that deliver our messages for us.

Email

We send order, shipping and account emails, such as password resets, to every account holder. Marketing emails go only to people who opted in, at checkout or through our newsletter sign-up, and every one includes an unsubscribe link. Our marketing list is kept in a system we run on our own order system's servers, and we use email delivery services to send messages.

Forms and help tickets

When you subscribe to our newsletter, contact us, open a help ticket or apply for a wholesale account, we keep what you send us, with the date and time, the wording you agreed to, and the salted IP hash described above. Submissions are stored in our hosting provider's database in North America and, once they are copied there, in our order system. We may also send a copy to our support mailbox so we can reply quickly.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only as needed to run our business, with service providers that may use it only to provide their services to us:

Our hosting provider, which runs the Site and stores form submissions.
Our order system's hosting provider, whose servers in the United States hold accounts, orders and addresses.
Our fulfillment partner, which packs and ships orders, and receives your name, shipping address, phone number and order contents.
Our payment processor, which takes your payment and helps prevent fraud.
Email and text message providers, which deliver our order, account and marketing messages.
Our email and office software provider, which hosts our support mailbox.
Carriers, which deliver your order and provide tracking.
Google Fonts, which supplies the typefaces on our pages and so receives your IP address and browser details when a page loads.
Professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants.
Authorities, when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our customers or others, including where we suspect a product is being misused.
A buyer or successor, if our business is sold or reorganized.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for targeted advertising.

Cookies and browser storage

We use only the cookies and browser storage the Site needs to work:

Researcher confirmation (psl_researcher_ok): remembers that you confirmed your age and eligibility, for 30 days.
Account session (psl_session): keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. It can't be read by scripts on the page.
Signed-in hint (psl_signed_in): tells the page that you are signed in, so it can show your account. It holds no personal information.
Cart: your cart is kept in your browser's local storage so it's still there when you come back.
Session storage: while your browser tab is open, we keep your last order's summary for the thank-you page and, if you are signed in, product details shown to account holders.
Tester mode (psl_tester and psl_tester_on): used only by our staff to test ordering. It is never set for customers.

Our secure payment page and our payment processor may use their own cookies to complete payment and prevent fraud. We don't use analytics or advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but you won't be able to sign in or order without them, and you'll be asked to confirm your eligibility again.

How long we keep it

Order records, including your researcher confirmation and agreement to our terms: seven years after the order, for legal, tax and accounting purposes.
Your account: until you ask us to close it, after which we keep only the order records above.
Marketing contact details: until you unsubscribe. We keep a record of your consent and opt-out for five years after that, as proof.
Contact messages and help tickets: three years.
Wholesale applications: seven years if approved, two years if declined.

We delete or anonymize other information when we no longer need it.

How we protect it

We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, including encryption in transit on every page of the Site, hashed passwords, sign-in cookies that scripts can't read, and access limited to the people and providers who need it. Card details go straight to our payment processor and never reach our systems. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email, stop texts by replying STOP, and ask us to update your details at any time.

Whatever state you live in, you can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, give you a copy, correct it, or delete it. We may need to keep some information, such as order records, where the law requires it. To make a request, email us at the address below. We will verify your identity before acting, usually by confirming the request from the email address on your account, and we aim to respond within 45 days. You may use an authorized agent to make a request for you. We won't treat you differently for using your rights.

State privacy rights

Residents of California and other states with consumer privacy laws may have the rights described above, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising. We don't sell or share personal information, as those laws define it, and we don't use it for targeted advertising. We honor Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out request for your browser. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision, and we will review it and tell you the outcome. If you remain unhappy, you may contact your state attorney general.

Social media

We have profiles on social media platforms, including X, TikTok, Bluesky, Pinterest, Reddit and LinkedIn. If you follow us, message us or interact with us there, the platform's own privacy policy applies to what it collects. We see only what the platform shows us, such as your public profile and any message you send.

Age limits

The Site is only for people aged 21 and over. It is not directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If you believe we have, contact us and we'll delete it.

Where your information is processed

We sell only within the continental United States. Your information is stored and processed in the United States, and our hosting provider's database is located in North America.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we'll tell you on the Site or by email.
